Mission Meeting, Community Clean-up, Understanding & Applying the Bible, & Laser Tag

YOUTH
This Friday, April 17 we'll going to the Gordon's place for a fun night of "Bunco". We will meet there at 6:00 PM and have dinner together. Cost $5.

MISSION MEETING
As announced previously, we have an opportunity to continue developing a relationship with the Hanthorns in Ft. McPherson, NWT by helping them with their church building project this July.  There will be a brief, informal meeting after church this Sunday for everyone interested in being part of a possible team from Tapestry.  Please contact Kim Pangracs for more information.

COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP
At Tapestry, we want Tuscany to be an even better place because we're part of it.  We have an opportunity to get involved and help keep our community clean by volunteering at the annual spring clean-up on Saturday, May 9 from 9:00 am - noon.  We'll join our neighbors for morning juice/coffee before hitting the parks and trails, then enjoy a BBQ lunch at the Club to wrap up the event.  Come on out and volunteer a few hours with friends and family serving our community.  Contact Steve to sign-up.

UNDERSTANDING AND APPLYING THE BIBLE
We are committed as a church family to loving, learning and living the Bible.  Because of this, we want every member of our community to have the opportunity to learn how to accurately interpret the Scriptures and to faithfully apply them to everyday life. "Understanding and Applying the Bible" is just such an opportunity.  In eight hours of teaching, you will learn basic principles of studying the Bible, including how to investigate the background of a passage in the Bible, analyze its language and structure, and translate its meaning into daily life. These skills can serve you well as a small group leader, Bible teacher, lay preacher, in your own personal study, or just sharing with friends. Please sign up at church or contact Glenn Watson. Here are the details:
  • Where: CNBC Mission Center in Cochrane
  • When: April 24-25 (7:00 - 9:00 PM on Friday; 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM on Saturday).
  • Teacher: Glenn Watson
  • Cost: Free - But we'll chip in for pizza together at lunch on Saturday.
LASER TAG
The men of Tapestry have challenged the women to a laser tag battle on Saturday, April 25 from 6:00 - 8:40 pm at Laser Quest.  Space is limited to the first 30 people to sign up.  Please contact Gordon Weynschenk or Lynda Blazina to register or for more information.  This is great event to invite friends or neighbors to!

FIREPROOF YOUR MARRIAGE BIBLE STUDY
Based on the FIREPROOF movie and the Love Dare challenge, this six-week study is designed to help you build a strong, covenant marriage.  Session themes cover issues such as honoring your spouse, forgiveness, unconditional love, building marriage on prayer and God's word, and more.  The date and location are yet to be finalized, but if you're interested in participating please contact Bob Shelton so we can gauge the level of interest.

SERMON FOLLOW-UP
Thinking about the Easter message last Sunday...
  • A key point:  Jesus’ death and resurrection stand at the center of history and are the foundation of our faith. The fact that Jesus rose from the dead changes everything!
  • For further reflection:  How real to you is the fact that Jesus rose from the dead? What effect does this fact have on your daily life?
SERMON SCRIPTURE
This week, we'll be looking at Acts 11:19-30.

GOD'S WORD IN YOU
Here's the memory verse for this week:  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23 NIV).
