YOUTH
This Friday, Dec. 11 the youth are having a Christmas Party, including a fondue dinner and good ol' fashioned gift exchange. Bring something (wrapped) you already have around the house - just make sure your parents are OK with it (i.e. you can't give away your little brother!). Meet at 6:00 pm at the Genn's place - 16 Glenhill Drive in Cochrane. If you need a ride, let Josh or Kelly know (403-851-0338 or jkgenn@gmail.com).
Next Friday, Dec. 18 we're having a big, extravagant, most awesome mall hunt ever! Bring every friend you have to Market Mall at 7:00 pm (we'll meet at the entrance by Starbucks). Disguised volunteers are needed who the youth will be trying to find. It's a great way to have some fun, do some of your Christmas shopping and help out the youth. If you want to help, contact Josh & Kelly at 403-851-0338 or by email at jkgenn@gmail.com.
TAPESTRY FAMILY CHRISTMAS PARTY
Sunday, Dec. 20, 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Tuscany Club. As communicated at church, we're selling tickets this year at a nominal cost ($3 per person or $5 per family) so we know how many people are coming and to help cover the cost of the turkeys, etc. You're encouraged to invite friends or neighbors - just make sure you buy them tickets! For tickets and food sign-up, please see Lynda Blazina at church, or contact her at 403-288-6615 or by email at maxnme@shaw.ca. As has become tradition, everyone school-aged and over is asked to bring a wrapped "white elephant" gift (a used item you no longer want) for a fun and light-hearted gift exchange.
MEN'S STUDY
Marty Pangracs will be leading a men's study of the book, No More Christian Nice Guy, on Sunday mornings before church beginning in January. If interested, please sign up at church or contact Marty at weirdodad@gmail.com by this Sunday as we'll be ordering the books next week.
PRAYING FOR ONE ANOTHER
It seems many in our church family are struggling in some way these days. It's a reminder that we need to be caring and praying for one another. To that end, we're going to note a few families from our church directory each week for you to bring before the Lord. As you pray, be sensitive to whether God would have you send them a note, give them a call or minister to them in some other way. This week, please pray for: Curtis Bestard, the Beda Family (Chelsey, Victor, Arrie, Tianna & Emmanuel) and the Blazina Family (Max, Lynda, Ryshon, Christian & Tryse).
CHRISTMAS MESSAGE SERIES
This Week... "Simply Christmas" - Reducing the stress of the season
Next Week... "All I Want for Christmas Is..." - Facing the reality that this isn't always 'the most wonderful time of the year.'
BIRTHDAYS THIS WEEK...
Birthday blessings to the following people who are celebrating their special day this week: Zoe Miller (Dec. 8), Thom Gordon (Dec. 9), Arrie Beda (Dec. 11) and Erin Johnstone (Dec. 16). Did we miss you or someone in your family? Let Steve know and we'll update our records.
