O'Potluck, Community Clean Up, the Genns & a New Elder
24/04/08 09:28
Church Potluck
Everyone is invited to a potluck lunch this Sunday, April 27 at Max & Lynda's, directly following morning worship. The Ireland mission team will also be sharing about their recent trip to the Emerald Isle. Invite a friend, bring a dish to share and enjoy just hangin' out.
Community Clean Up & BBQ
At Tapestry, we want Tuscany to be an even better place because we're part of it. We have an opportunity to get involved and help keep our community clean by volunteering at the annual spring clean-up on Saturday, May 10 from 9:00 am - noon. We'll join our neighbors for morning juice/coffee before hitting the parks and trails, then enjoy a BBQ lunch at the Club to wrap up the event. Come on out, slap on a Tapestry t-shirt and volunteer a few hours with friends and family serving our community. Contact Lynda Blazina at 288-6615 to sign-up.
Care Package for the Genns
A heartfelt thank you to those who have already contributed toward the care package for the Genns! It's not too late to be a part of this tangible demonstration of love and support. Restaurant gift cards, encouraging notes/cards or scripture, things to help pass time for Josh, Kelly & Ella (coloring books, magazines etc.), monetary donations and anything else that you feel would help them through their time in Edmonton for little Gus's surgery are welcome. Please ensure your contribution to the care package is given to Abbie Macdonald, Debbie Shelton or Lynda Blazina before the end of the month. If you have any questions, please contact Abbie at 851-1054 or camabbie@gmail.com. Please continue to remember this family in your prayers.
Bob the Elder
It is being recommended that Bob Shelton be appointed as our third Elder. Bob brings a wealth of experience and wisdom to the role and in many ways has already been serving in this capacity. This appointment formalizes his role as an Elder at Tapestry where he will continue to offer leadership, teaching and pastoral care. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Max Blazina, Thom Gordon or Steve Rathje before May 4.

Ireland Potluck, Care Packages, and Lil' K

Care Package for the Genns
Little Gus has recently been diagnosed with a heart condition that requires open heart surgery. As their church family and close friends, we are wanting to come alongside them with some tangible love and support. Abbie Macdonald is putting together a surprise care package that we can send with them when they travel to Edmonton in early May for the surgery. Restaurant gift cards, encouraging notes/cards or scripture, things to help pass time for Josh, Kelly & Ella (coloring books, magazines etc.), monetary donations and anything else that you feel would help them through this time are welcome. Please ensure your contribution to the care package is given to Abbie, Debbie Shelton or Lynda Blazina by the end of April. If you have any questions, please contact Abbie at 851-1054 or camabbie@gmail.com. Thanks in advance for your generous support! Please continue to keep this family in your prayers.
Unrau Family
Melanie and Nigel and Unrau are a seminary student family (4 children) who could use our prayers and support. Melanie has been diagnosed with a back condition that requires surgery, most likely out-of-country. Following surgery she will be confined to bed rest for many weeks. Needless to say, Nigel could use some help as he balances school and caring for his family. Most importantly, please pray for them. If you would like to help in other ways (cooking gluten-free meals, helping to care for the kids, contributing to the costs of the out-of-country surgery, etc..), please contact Chelsea Beda at 851-0413 or thebedabunch@gmail.com.

Lil'K
Volunteers are needed for the next 5-week session of Lil'K, which begins on May 18 and runs until the middle of June. We need two leaders for each Sunday. Even if you could commit to help for 2 or 3 weeks in a row, it would be appreciated. Ideally, we'd like to have at least one person commit to the full 5-week unit to provide some consistency for the children. Please contact Debbie Shelton at 239-4713 for more information or to sign up.
