Wilks, Murder, and Lil'K
30/01/08 13:04
The
Wilks
Tapestry's newest church planters
are online. They may be going to Medicine Hat,
but their blog is just
a click away. Pray for Jason and Leigh Wilks and
their family as they move this Saturday to
church start as part of the Tapestry network!
Thanks to everyone who took part in their
commissioning on Sunday, and thanks to Jason for
sharing a great message from Luke with us.
Murder Mystery
Please join us in the upcoming murder mystery, Caught in a Spanish Web Saturday, 9 February at Thom and Lorie Gordon's. Dessert will be served, and everyone will have a part to play. Dress as Spanish as you can, and invite all your friends. Tickets are on sale now for a donation of your choice. Pick them up at the Sunday service, or contact Dave and Lauren. Grade 6 and older are welcome. 100% of the money collected will go towards the team we're sending to serve the city of Dublin, Ireland this March.
Lil'K
Two volunteers are needed to help with Lil'K beginning in February. Please contact Debbie if you're willing to make this 5 week commitment to Tapestry's kids.

This Sunday
You'll want to join us as we commission Jason and Leigh Wilks this Sunday before their move to Medicine Hat to start a new church. They go as part of the Tapestry network of church plants, and we look forward to hearing stories from the field, praying for them, and even sending teams down to help them in their work someday.
We will meet upstairs this Sunday, and will have Kidmo, Lil'K and nursery available to the kids.
Kids
Tapestry's kids have been having a great time in Kidmo and Lil'K since they started last Autumn. In these video based classes the kids play games, learn the stories of the scriptures, and know that they have an important place in our church. Just last week one of our Lil'K kids quoted me two memory verses, one from the last session! Without all our volunteers, there would be no Kidmo.
Two Volunteers are needed to help with Lil'K for 5 weeks beginning in February. Please contact Debbie if you're willing to volunteer.

MOPS is a great ministry to moms here in
Tuscany, and Tapestry is the proud sponsor of this
local program. In a busy city that draws families
from across Canada and the world, it's important for
moms get a break, build support networks where they
live, and get some time away from their kids (who are
having fun and experiencing Tapestry's great Lil' K
program in the next room). The church is a sent
people, and our success and faithfulness are
dependent on both our spiritual lives and our impact
on the world around us. MOPS is one of the important
ways we impact our community. Please pray for MOPS
director Sarah Gullacher and all the moms who take
part in this program as they kick off a new session.
You can always check Tapestry's MOPS page for all
the latest info.

- The latest census data has just been released, and Calgary is more multicultural than you might have thought. We all know that most of the city isn't from Calgary, but did you know that 1 out of 4 Calgarians isn't even from Canada? Calgary's 25% immigration rate means that we're receiving new residents from all over the world all the time, and many of these don't have the basic English language skills it takes to find a job. In a city desperate for workers, this is a real problem for everyone. The current wait time for new immigrants seeking basic ESL (English as a Second Language) classes is 6 months, and some of us at Tapestry want to help reduce that. If you are interested in helping us begin a new ESL ministry to the many immigrants in our midst, please contact us to find out how you can be part of this.
- The Ireland Team is getting ready for their journey to the Emerald Isle this March. If you are interested in joining with others to serve the city of Dublin for a week, you need to sign up soon. Please pray for those going and consider whether God would have you support them financially. Contact Dave for more info.
- Photos from our Christmas soirées are online. Check 'em out.
- We pick back up where we left off this week with Luke 12:49-13:9. Check out the latest Sermon Note for a reminder of where we were before this.
