GET YOUR TICKETS!
Tapestry is showing the movie FIREPROOF on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 6:30 pm at the Tuscany Club. Fireproof is an action-packed love story about a firefighter, his wife and a marriage worth rescuing. This powerful movie opens dialogue about conflict resolution, the differences between men and women, pornography, forgiveness and, most importantly, the need for God's love. This is a great opportunity to touch not only relationships in our church, but also as a way to reach out to people in our community and let them know we're here to help them build strong families
Tickets are free, but you must have a ticket to get in because seating is limited. To request tickets or to register for childcare, please click here. Tickets will also be available from Marilyn Rathje at church on Sunday. Plan to come and invite friends or neighbors to join you! If you're interested in helping with the event, please talk with Abbie Macdonald.
MEALS FOR THE POONS
Calvin & Joyce Poon welcomed a little baby girl, Aubrey, into their family on January 28! As their friends and church family, we would like to bless them with meals during this time of transition into parenthood. A sign up sheet will be available on Sunday, or contact Abbie Macdonald (403-851-1054 or camabbie@gmail.com). Calvin & Joyce live in Cochrane, so if you aren't able to transport a meal out to Cochrane, you can bring a frozen meal (or one that can be frozen) to church and Abbie will make sure it gets to them. Thank you for so faithfully being the hands and feet of Jesus. Please remember to pray for the Poon family this week.
NICK'S 30-HOUR FAMINE
Nick Melazzo is joining a bunch of his student friends from the University of Calgary in World Vision's 30 Hour Famine, and he needs your help to raise some cash for people who live in places without food or clean water. He'll be going without food for 30 hours this Friday, February 6. Every dollar helps. Why not contribute $10, the cost of a meal, to his day of starvation? You can donate online by clicking this link, or feel free to email Nick with your pledge if credit card giving doesn't work for you. Thanks!
FRIDAY NIGHT PRAYER
Tapestry meets the first and third Friday each month for prayer. We'll gather this Friday, Feb. 6 at 7:00 pm at Max & Lynda's place (37 Tuscany Springs Circle) for prayer and the Lord's Supper, followed by some hanging out time and games. Come on out for a special time with God and one another.
WOMEN'S COFFEE TIME
All women (high school & older) are welcome to a weekly coffee get-together on Saturdays from 9:00 - 10:30 am at the Tim Horton's in Cochrane. For more information, contact Lynda Blazina at 403-288-6615.
MUSTARD SEED VOLUNTEERING
We have a couple of opportunities to volunteer at the Mustard Seed Street Ministry this month. Saturday, Feb. 14 (10:00 - noon or so) we'll be helping in the clothing center and on Saturday, Feb. 28 (10:00 - noon) we'll be helping to pack lunches. For more information or to sign-up, please contact Janet Napady at 403-208-1318.
DREADS FOR DIABETES
Just a reminder that you can watch Erin Johnstone get her drastic haircut on Monday February 9 at 5:00 pm in the Art room at the Children's Hospital. The dreads are coming off and she's using the opportunity to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes research. If you'd like to sponsor her, it's not too late! She'll have pledge forms available at church that you can fill out, or contact her by email at i_am_wearing_a_shoe@hotmail.com.
SERMON SCRIPTURE
Last Sunday was a special time of Remembering and Rededication as we celebrated our first meeting at Tuscany School. This week, we return to the book of Acts and will be looking at Acts 6:1-7.
GOD'S WORD IN YOU
Here's the memory verse for this week: And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19 NIV).
